When I was little my Mom use to say it took me hours to think about doing the dishes and just fifteen minutes to get them washed. So true! Sometimes the hardest part of the job is thinking about having to do it. I do much better now, but a long the way I also learned a few tricks to make it easier. So here are a few of my tips. |

KITCHEN TIPS Always keep a grocery list on your refrigerator door to add to as you run out of items. To many dirty glasses? Buy each member of your family their own personal glass. Each time they want something to drink they have to use their own glass. Make Microwave cleaning easy - place a small bowl of water inside and turn on for 1--3 minutes. Open door and wipe the inside with damp cloth. I became a big fan of Dawn dish soap after helping with a greasy wheel axle. I tried three other brands of soap and they just wouldn’t cut the grease off my hands. Next I used Dawn and it removed every bit of it. So it’s been Dawn for my dishes ever since. Keep a container in your freezer for those left over veggie's. Then use those frozen veggies in your next stew. Save money on coffee, If you have extra coffee left over in the morning, pour it into a thermos for later. You could even make extra coffee in the morning and put it in a thermos to take to work or to have later. | Viewers Tips: Sandra Tenn. I like to wipe my kitchen counter tops with a wipe. Make your own - Cut a roll of Bounty paper towels (must be Bounty as other types disintegrate) in half with a serrated knife.Take out the cardboard core. Mix 2 tablespoons of baby shampoo (must be baby shampoo as others are too soapy) with 1 cup warm water. I use an old wipes container to keep the wipes in, but you can use any container that has a lid. Pour the water/shampoo mixture over the half roll of towels. Turn container occasionally so all towels are saturated. "I like these better than commercial wipes."

Cleaning the inside of the dishwasher. I use lemonade koolaide to clean the inside of my dishwasher. Just one or two packages without the sugar and the inside is clean and smells pretty good too. I had a friend tell me to use Tang but I couldn't see putting all that sugar so use the koolaid. |
