"Welcome to Cat Tips" The cat picture is my cat Walli - I found her when she was a kitten, she had been dumped off in a shopping cart outside of Wal-mart. She was about five weeks old, cold and hungry and the ugliest kitten I ever saw. But in my coat I put her, and home I went. I had only been married a short time and my husband was not a big fan of cat's (but he is a animal lover, just not cat's) Oh! the look he gave me when I showed him the fur ball in my coat. I pleaded her case as I heated some milk for her. "I will find her a home in a few days. "I will have to let the vet take a look at her first. "I can't put her outside it's to cold, est... One month later as I was still laying in bed and my husband was up making coffee in the kitchen. I heard a few tiny little meows. Then to my amusement I heard my husband say," What is it baby are you hungry? Come here little darlin and I'll get you some milk." I almost fell out of the bed. To make a long story short. We named the cat Walli, since I found her at Wal-mart). And now seven years later, Walli has a good home, Ours! I have a tender heart for unwanted or abused animals and as you have read so does my husband. (Yep, even for cats) Ha Ha! Cats are colony animal, this means each cat has it’s own role and no cat is the leader. Unlike a dog they do not need to please the leader of the pack, and they don’t strive for approval. For many of us cats our great playmates and they amuse us with their antics, which relieves stress. Cat's number one instinct is to hunt and by watching a cat planning a clever strategy to capture their prey. Shows they are very intelligent. Cats like routine, a time to eat, sleep ect. Train your cat to refrain from undesirable behaviors such as scratching furniture and jumping on countertops. Groom your cat often to keep her coat healthy, soft, and shiny. Many plant are poisonous to cats if eaten. Ask your vet about plants. Cats have excellent night vision, yet they are shortsighted during daytime. Cats can hear sounds that are three times as high than the ones we can. The ears have the ability to move sideways to locate the source of the sound. Cats rely heavily on their sense of smell. Cats also have a unique mechanism at the top of their mouth. A pair of organs, called Jacobson's organs or the vomeronasal organs, let the cat analyze air that is inhaled through the mouth rather than the nose. Cats use their sense of taste to determine which foods are good for them. Touch receptors found on a cat’s face and front paws transfer sensations of pressure, temperature and pain from any point to the brain. The cat's whiskers are very sensitive and these special hairs, called vibrissae, are set deep within the skin and provide the cat with sensory information about the slightest air movement around it. Deafness are higher in white cats with blue eyes; white cats with eyes of different colors are often deaf only in the ear on the blue-eyed side. Cats love toys, even frugal ones such as a a cardboard boxs to play in. | ![]() |
